Canadian Firms To Evaluate Prospects of Saleh Field
Two Canadian companies - Scimitar Exploration and Canada Northwest EnergyLtd. - have agreed with the UAE emirate of Ras al-Khaimah to evaluate thepossibilities of developing the offshore Saleh field, which was relinquished byits concessionaires in 1989, and report within six months.
The Saleh field came on stream in 1984 after the discovery of condensate andgas in 1983. Production from the field peaked in 1986-87...
