Sidqi FieldResumes Production
On 8 June EgyptianOil Minister Hamdi al-Banbi inaugurated the resumption of production fromGupco's (EGPC/Amoco's) Sidqi field in the Gulf of Suez. The field's originalplatform was destroyed in December 1989 when it was struck by the Philipinobulk carrier Panay Samaguita. The field was producing about 8,000 b/d of oil and20mn cu. ft./day of gas at the time of the accident, and has now resumedproduction at a rate of 7,000 b/d,...
