Jordan Reaches Debt Repayment Agreement with Russia
Jordan has reached an agreement with Russia on the repayment of debts owingto the Soviet Union. Press reports put the total debt at $750mn, most of whichis to be repaid through exports of consumer goods. The remainder will be paid incash. Statistics published by the Central Bank of Jordan give a figure ofJD384.9mn ($579mn) for debt owed to the USSR at the end of 1990.
