SVCG/Total Joint Venture Dissolved

Total of France has dissolved its 1989 joint-venture agreement with the SaudiVenture Capital Group (SVCG) to set up a project for the production of 250,000tons/year of paraxylene and 100,000 t/y of benzene by the end of 1993, accordingto European Chemical News (ECN) of 9 November 1992. The original agreement tolaunch the project was signed in late 1989. However in mid-1990 the project'sstart-up was delayed until 1996...
