Security Council Maintains Sanctions against Iraq
The UN Security Council decided on 25 January to continue the trade sanctionsagainst Iraq. According to the ceasefire resolution adopted at the end of theGulf war in 1991, the Council is mandated to review the embargo every twomonths.
