QASCO Plans $275mn Expansion Project
The Qatar Steel Company (QASCO) - the joint venture owned by the QatarGeneral Petroleum Corporation (70%), Kobe Steel (20%) and Tokyo Boeki (10%)which operates and manages a steel mill with a capacity of 560,000 tons/year ofreinforced bars at Umm Said - is planning an expansion project to raise outputby between 300,000 and 500,000 tons/year.
