UAE To Set 10% Capital Adequacy Requirement
The Central Bank of the UAE announced on 5 April that all banks under itsjurisdiction will be required to maintain a risk-weighted capital adequacy ratioof 10%, effective from 1 July this year. Banks will have to report to theCentral Bank on a quarterly basis. The internationally accepted standard is 8%.Nevertheless, most banks in the emirates will have little difficulty...
