Iranian Riyal Devalued Again
The Central Bank of Iran devalued the Riyal by 6.7% to $1=IR1,649 on 14April, the second devaluation in three weeks. On 28 March the longstandingofficial rate of rate of $1=IR65 was replaced by the market-related figure of$1=IR1,540. However, heavy purchases of dollars since 28 March pushed the riyalto $1=IR1,830 (MEES, 5 April).
