Security Council Extends Sanctions On Iraq; Kuwait Pays $20Mn To UNOperations In Iraq
The UN Security Council, in its periodic two-month review of the sanctionsagainst Iraq, decided on 24 May to extend the sanctions because Baghdad "isnot cooperating fully with the terms of the cease-fire resolution" whichcalls for the elimination of weapons of mass destruction.
