NSC Shops For Crude Tankers
The National Shipping Company (NSC) of Saudi Arabia is studying 12 bids fromshipyards in Norway, Scotland and South Korea for the construction of five VLCCtankers at a cost of $500mn, according to Mr. Muhammad al-Jarbu', NSC's ChiefExecutive. Mr. Jarbu' said that the crude tankers, which are the first to jointhe company's fleet, will have a capacity of 250,000-280,000 dwt and areexpected to cost between $80mn and $140mn each....
