Vela To Take Delivery Of First Of 15 New Tankers In September
Vela International Marine, Saudi Aramco's tanker arm, will take delivery byend-1994 of all but one of its 15 new VLCC/ULCC new buildings which are currentlyon order at Japanese, South Korean and Danish shipyards, according to a SaudiAramco statement on 22 August. The tankers, which are designed to boost Vela'scapacity to carry crude by some 30mn barrels, range between 290,000 and 304,000dwt....
