Iraq Opens NewFertilizer Factory
Iraq opened a newmonophosphate and triphosphate fertlizer plant, worth $70mn, in the western Al-Qa'imregion on 2 September. The plant, which was under construction before the Gulfwar, is located some 550 kms. northwest of Baghdad and can produce 100,000 tonsof monophosphate or 180,000 tons of triphosphate annually.
