Fujairah Chromite Plant to Go on Stream by End-1992
Portman Mining Company of Australia is currently building a chromite plantwith an initial capacity of 20,000 tons/year in the UAE emirate of Fujairah. Theplant, which will cost $0.5mn, will process chromite deposits and exports aredue to be shipped to international markets by the end of 1992. Portman Miningexpects to recover some 200,000 tons of chromite from Fujairah.
