Syria Awards Study Contract on Upgrading of Refineries to UOP

Syria and the UK-based US firm UOP on 28 September signed a $1mn contract fora study which will concentrate, among other things, on the possible upgrading ofthe country's two state-owned refineries at Homs (5.2mn tons/year) and Banias(6mn tons/year).
