IEA Activates Plan for 2.5mn b/d Supply Increase

Following the outbreak of hostilities in the Gulf, the Executive Director ofthe International Energy Agency (IEA), Mrs. Helga Steeg, notified membergovernments on 17 January that they should now activate the "coordinatedenergy contingency plan" to make 2.5mn b/d of additional oil supplyavailable to the market within 15 days.
