Hiti Appointed Minister of Oil

Mr. Usama al-Hiti, the Iraqi Minister of State for Oil Affairs, wasappointed on 27 May as Minister of Oil. Since last fall, when Mr. Isam al-Chalabiwas dismissed from the job, the post has been occupied by Mr. Husain Kamel andlater by Lt. Gen. 'Amir Hammadi al-Sa'di, who held, the posts of Minister ofIndustry and Military Industrialization and Acting Oil Minister.
