Israel Tells US It Bought Crude from Iran

Following a report on NBC television that Israel had purchased two millionbarrels of Iranian crude - for $36mn, or $18/B - in mid-November, StateDepartment spokeswoman Margaret Tutwiler confirmed on 19 December that"Israel informed us a month ago after the fact that it had concluded adeal for the purchase of Iranian oil."
