Suez Canal Tolls 1989

The new Suez Canal transit tolls which came into effect on 1 January of thisyear are shown in the table overleaf. They represent the first increase in twoyears. For comparison, the 1987 tolls are also shown in the table.

The Canal's new tolls provide for increases of 7.8%, from Special DrawingRights (SDR) 5.10 per Suez Canal Net Ton (SCNT) in 1987 to SDR5.50 per SCNT in1989, on the first 5,000 SCNT of all vessels transiting the Canal,...
