JPDC to Spud Fourth Exploratory Well
The Japan Petroleum Development Company (JPDC) has spudded its fourth exploratory well Hathat-l in its 15,000 sq. kms. concession (Block 3) in eastern central Oman in the vicinity of Masirah island. JPDC has so far drilled three wells in its concession that was acquired in October 1981 Shabiyah-1 , Matam-1 and Andam-1 which were all abandoned as dry holes. The fourth wildcat is the last to be drilled under the existing exploration program.
