The mandate of the Arab League monitoring mission on Syria has expired, and the League must now decide what to do (or not to do) next. It is still not clear whether the GCC plan to resolve Yemen's political crisis will in fact be implemented. Bahrain has introduced reforms which have been rejected as inadequate by the opposition. Senior British officials have criticized Israel's settlement construction in unusually harsh terms.
