Apache Announces Successful Appraisal Of Abu Sir Deepwater Gas Find

Apache Corporation announced on 4 March the successful appraisal of its deepwater Abu Sir field discovery in the West Mediterranean concession (MEES, 27 May 2002). The Abu Sir-2X, in water depth of 3,373ft, was drilled to a total depth of 13,162ft and penetrated hydrocarbon-bearing intervals in both Pliocene- and Miocene-aged sands.
