Shu'aibaRefinery Restarts After Leak

KuwaitNational Petroleum Company (KNPC) announced on 18 February that the Shu'aibaoil refinery, which was closed on 9 February after a leak was found in the heatexchanger for the main crude distillation unit, had restarted production (MEES, 18 February). A spokesman said thestart-up was gradual, with the expectation that the plant would be back to its200,000 b/d capacity by the end of the week.
