JAOC Plans Two Wells For Offshore Ashtegyakh Field
The Japan Azerbaijan Oil Company (JAOC) plans to drill two wells in Azerbaijans offshore Ashtegyakh field later this year using the Gurtulush jack-up rig. JAOC told MEES that during 2000 it had acquired 510 sq kms of 3D seismic and that it would spud its first well in September. Each well will be drilled to a depth of around 5,000ms.
