US Threatens Sanctions If Sudan Referendum Is Delayed
The US has threatened to impose more sanctions on Sudan if the central government does not make sufficient progress towards the completion of its obligations relating to the countrys 2005 comprehensive peace agreement (CPA). A referendum in the autonomous south on full secession was agreed to as part of the peace deal, which ended a 17-year civil war that killed two million people....
