Qatar And Norsk Hydro Shelve Plan For $1Bn Aluminum Smelter Project
The Qatari Minister of Finance, Economy and Trade, Yusuf Husain Kamal,has announced that the government has decided to delay the implementation of the $1bnaluminum smelter project at Ras Laffan, which was to be set up as a joint venture betweenthe Qatar General Petroleum Corporation (QGPC 40%) and Norways Norsk Hydro(60%) under an agreement concluded last November (MEES, 24 November 1997)....
