Lasmo Reports Oil Discovery In Murzuk Basin

The UK firm Lasmo announced on 30 October that it had made a successful discovery inblock NC-174 in the Murzuk basin, around 750 kms. southwest of Tripoli. The Lasmostatement added that the discovery well encountered over 300 ft. of net oil pay at a depthof about 5,000 ft. Well testing rates were constrained to an aggregate of 7,500 b/d of38º API.
