Toyo Engineering Wins Polypropylene Plant Contract

Kuwait's Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC) has signed a KD25.8mn ($86mn)contract with Toyo Engineering of Japan for the construction at the ShuaibaIndustrial Area of a polypropylene plant with a capacity of 100,000 tons/year.The plant, which is scheduled for completion by 1997, will utilize PE technologyunder license from the US's Union Carbide, and is separate from the $2bnpetrochemical project to...
