Iraq Fails ToAttend UN Compensation Commission Hearing In Geneva
Iraq failed toattend a two-day meeting of the UN Compensation Commission at UN EuropeanHeadquarters in Geneva on 19-20 April. The hearing was called to discuss claimsput forward by Egypt concerning remittances owned to Egyptian workers employedin Iraq before the Gulf war. Egypt claims that Iraqi banks failed to transfer$500mn owed to Egyptian workers prior to Iraq's invasion of Kuwait in August...
