New Platform At Ashtart Oilfield Ready To Begin Production
The state-owned Enterprise Tunisienne d'Activites Petrolieres (ETAP) hasannounced that a new floating platform at Tunisia's offshore Ashtart oilfield isready to begin production. The platform represents Phase I of a $210mn projectundertaken to maintain Ashtart's production capacity at 1mn tons/year (20,000b/d) during the period 1996-2004. In 1994, the field produced 940,000 tons(18,800 b/d).
