Al-Maghara Coal Mine Starts Test Production

Test production on the al-Maghara coal mine in northern Sinai will begin thismonth, in preparation for the start of regular production next February,according to Dr. Ibrahim Fawzi, the Egyptian Minister of Industry. During arecent visit to the mine, Dr. Fawzi said that production will start at 125,000tons a year, rising to 600,000 tons a year in five years. He estimated themine's coal deposits at 27mn tons and...
