Iran Forges Economic Links with Former Soviet Republics
Iranian Oil Minister Gholamreza Aghazadeh announced on 6 February that Iranand the Ukraine plan to build a pipeline system that would run throughAzerbaijan. The system will be used to carry large volumes of Iranian oil andgas under the terms of a recently concluded barter deal (MEES, 3 February), andmay eventually be used to carry oil and gas to Europe.
