Homs Refinery Converts Furnaces to Gas
The Syrian state-owned Homs refinery's furnaces have been converted toutilize gas instead of fuel oil in a bid to save on fuel. The refinery, whichhas a processing capacity of 5.2mn tons/year, was previously run on 800 tons/dayof fuel oil and the conversion to gas will, according to Syrian sources, providethe country with $27mn a year in additional oil exports.
