QATAR
Elf/Aquitaine Obtains Qatar Exploration Acreage
The French state-owned firm Elf/Aquitaine signed on 7 January aproduction-sharing agreement with Qatar. According to the agreement, ElfAquitaine Qatar will obtain a 2,800-sq. km. offshore exploration permit for sixyears in Block 6, located east of the Qatar coast.
