Suez Canal Revenues Hit Year High In July
Suez Canal revenues jumped by 10% in July to $382.9mn, the highest monthly figure for the canal so far this year. But the canal revenues remain some 20% down on July 2008. The gradual rise in receipts throughout 2009 will nevertheless be welcomed by the Egyptian government. The slump in commercial shipping resulted in this vital source of income dropping from a high of $504.5 in August last year...
