The focus has remained firmly on the Gulf, with the US administration, having apparently reached at least a provisional working understanding with Congress, trying to finalize military and political arrangements both internationally and in the region to enable it to discharge its commitment to keep the Gulf sea lanes open. What degree of support the US will win from its western allies, and from the Arab states of the Gulf, is not yet clear, but Iran has been busy...
