GPIC Exports About 1mn Tons of Ammonia/Methanol in 1986
The Bahrain-based Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) the joint-venture firm owned by Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain exported in 1986 some 1mn tons of ammonia and methanol (54% methanol and 46% ammonia) to various international markets. The company's $400mn plant was commissioned in July 1985 (MEES, August 1985). The plant's output is marketed on behalf of GPIC by the Kuwait Petrochemical Industries Company...
