EEC Provides Assistance to Three Arab Countries
The European Economic Community has agreed to fund three projects in Egypt, Somalia and Jordan. An agreement worth E£30mn ($21mn at the official exchange rate) was signed on 20 November to fund a sewerage project at Helwan. Somalia will receive a grant of ECU3.1mn ($2.3mn) to help set up a system for the rapid detection of food shortages.
