Iraq and the USSR Sign Oil Development Agreement
Iraq and the Soviet Union have signed an agreement whereby the latter will supply technical expertise and equipment for the development of an (as yet unidentified) major oil- field in Iraq. The accord was signed in Baghdad on 16 February by Mr. 'Isam al-Chalabi, Undersecretary of the Iraqi Oil Ministry, and Mr. Eugeny Osadchuk, Deputy Chair- man of the Soviet State Committee for Economic Relations.
