Tension Rises in Kuwait Ahead of Election
Kuwaiti opposition groups plan to demonstrate on 11 November against new voting rules that will govern the election of parliament on 1 December. Threatening to boycott the election, the opposition has toughened its demands. In addition to insisting on the legalization of political parties some are now calling for the government to be elected instead of appointed by the ruling al-Sabah family.
