NBK Reports More Solid Profit Growth
Close on the heels of the announcement of a 7.6% profit growth for the year 2000 (MEES, 16 April), National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) announced on 11 April that it had achieved a 13% rise in its 1Q profits to KD27.7mn ($90mn). In a statement, the bank said that it had achieved a return on shareholders equity of 26.8%, but gave no further figures.
