Iraqi Per Capita Income Declines By 97% Between 1975 And 1998
Iraqi per capita income has shrunk by a dramatic 97% from an average of $703.3 in 1971-75 to an average of $21.3 in 1994-1998, according to an article by Iraqi professor of economics Majid Mas'ud, published in the Arabic language leftist monthly Majallat al-Thaqafah al-Jadidah (New Cultural Magazine see Table below).
