Algerian Prime Minister Says Debt Problem Under Control
The Algerian Prime Minister, Mr. Ahmed Ouyahia, has given an upbeat assessment of the debt problem in his country. Speaking to Algeria's appointed parliament, the Transitional National Council, he said that Algeria's foreign borrowing requirement in 1996 was slightly less than $2bn, against a projection of $3.8bn, and that he saw no need for another rescheduling of the foreign debt....
