OPEC Secretariat Forecasts 1996 World Oil Demand At 68.9Mn B/D
Total world oil demand in 1996 will reach 68.9mn b/d, according to projections by the OPEC Secretariat published by OPECNA on 16 January. This figure is 60,000 b/d higher than OPEC's last forecast and translates into an increase in demand of 1.44mn b/d over 1995, which OPEC estimates at 67.46mn b/d.
