British Gas Starts Drilling Off Socotra
Later this month British Gas plans to start drilling two wells in a 17,700-sq. km. (6,835-sq. mile) area offshore of the island of Socotra in the Arabian Sea. The wells will be drilled back to back in Block 38 in both shallow and deep waters. Earlier this month, British Gas farmed out part of its equity share in the concession to the Videsh unit of India's Oil and Gas Corporation (ONGC).
