Chorus Of Disapproval Greets US Legislation On Iran/Libya Sanctions
Predictably, the new US legislation providing for sanctions against non-US companies investing in oil and gas projects in Iran and Libya, which was signed into law by President Clinton on 5 August (for full text see MEES, 29 July), has been greeted by a worldwide chorus of disapproval. In fact, not a single country has yet come forward to voice public support for the US measures.
