Marathon Makes Second Oil Discovery In Gebel El-Zeit Tract
Marathon Oil has made a second oil discovery in the onshore/offshore Gebelel-Zeit permit on the southwest coast of the Gulf of Suez. The discovery well,Ras el-Ush3, tested at a rate of 4,358 b/d of 36.2ø API crude oil through a96/64-inch choke with a flowing tubing pressure of 177 psi, Marathon said on 30May. The well encountered hydrocarbons in sandstones of the Cretaceous Nubia andMatulla formations....
