Iraq Recaptures Giant Majnoon Oilfield
Iraqi armed forces succeeded on 12 February in recapturing the Majnoon oilfield, two years after its occupation by Iran. The giant field is located about 65 kas. northeast of Basrah and 20 kms. east of Shatt al-'Arab and contains around 7-8bn barrels of crude oil reserves.
