Gas Injection at Birba Field to Boost Output to 20,000 B/D
Oman's Minister ofPetroleum and Minerals, Mr. Sa'id bin Ahmed al-Shanfari, has given the go-aheadfor a $31mn gas injection project for the central part of the Birba oil field.The scheme should boost production to 20,000 b/d from the current 8,500 b/d. TheBirba field, located in southern Oman, was discovered in 1978 and came on streamin April 1982, producing light crude oil.
