Fighting Engulfs Kirkuk Oil Province
Kurdish rebels claimed on 19 March that their forces had seized most of themajor points in the Kirkuk oil province in northern Iraq. A communique from theIraqi Kurdistan Front in London said that their forces controlled most ofnorthern Iraq and large areas in the center of Kirkuk, located some 240 kms.north of Baghdad.
