Drilling Resumes at Naft-Shahr after 10-Year Interruption
Iranian television announced on 5 July that drilling has resumed at theNaft-Shahr oilfield which lies near the Iraqi border, some 580 kms. west ofTehran. Iraq occupied the oilfield during the eight-year-long Iran-Iraq war andafter the August 1988 ceasefire.
